Your Officiant has pronounced you Husband & Wife, you sealed your marriage with a kiss, and you’ve just been introduced to your friends & family as Mr & Mrs for the first time. LET’S PARTY! Well, almost. You still have to walk back down the aisle arm-in-arm while everyone is cheering you on. So let’s make sure we’ve got the right tune playing. We encourage you to pick a high-energy song that really sets the tone for your reception. Here are 50 upbeat recessional songs that differ from what you may hear in a church.
Wedding Traditions – The Money Dance
Here in Colorado, the Money Dance (or Dollar Dance) isn’t as popular as in other parts of the country – or world for that matter. It is probably the dance couples have the strongest opinion towards. Only about 25% of our couples chose to have the dance over the last few years, but it is still important to know it’s origins and why we even have it in the first place. We always tell our couples that if nothing else, the Money Dance is a great opportunity to share a brief moment with your guests (and maybe gain some pocket money for your Honeymoon). Typically, we have the Maid of Honor & Best Man collect the money for the Bride & Groom so nobody has to “pin” it on them.
Here is a great article explaining it’s history & origin.

Wedding Music – Ceremony Processional
You’re about to walk down the aisle… in front of your family, your closest friends, and a bunch of people you don’t know because they’re on your fiance’s side. Everyone’s eyes are on you. And you have to pick a song that plays while you’re walking toward the person you are about to marry. No pressure 🙂
BUT – we’re here to help. This is a list of the Top 50 Ceremony Processional songs from 2015 as chosen by thousands of couples from around the country. (I’m surprised to see Canon in D as the #3 song as I think we only played it once last year).

The Wedding Cake
The Wedding Cake has history dating back to Medieval & Roman times. It is a custom that is present in nearly all weddings, and even with the recent trend towards cupcakes or a desert bar, most couples still choose to have at least a small cake to “cut”. Here is a great article explaining some of the traditions – including cutting the cake, the Groom’s cake, and even putting a piece of cake under your pillow.
